How much does a website cost in India?

· 2 min read · By the SYNTVEX team

The honest answer is that it depends on what you need. But that is not very helpful when you are trying to plan a budget, so here is how pricing usually works and what you should expect to pay.

Typical price ranges

For our own work, a five-page business website starts at ₹9,999. A larger business site with a blog, custom design and advanced SEO starts at ₹24,999. An online store starts at ₹44,999, and custom web apps start at ₹1,19,999. Other agencies charge more or less, but the pattern is similar: the more your site has to do, the more it costs.

What changes the price

  • Number of pages. Five pages and fifty pages are very different projects.
  • Design. A simple layout costs less than a fully custom design built around your brand.
  • Features. A contact form is easy. Online payments, customer logins, booking or a dashboard take real development time.
  • Content. Someone has to write the text and prepare the photos. If you supply them, the project is faster.
  • Integrations. Payment gateways, shipping services, CRMs and WhatsApp tools each add work.
  • Support. Some quotes include months of help after launch. Others do not.

Costs that come after launch

Most websites have some running costs. A domain name is renewed every year. Hosting is a monthly or yearly fee that depends on how much traffic you get. Some tools, plugins and email services are paid. Ask any agency to list these clearly before you sign.

Why the cheapest quote can end up costing more

A very low price usually means something has been left out: SEO, speed, mobile testing, support, or proper handover. You then pay to fix it later, or you pay a second developer to rebuild it. The lowest quote is not always the wrong one, but it is worth understanding exactly what it includes.

Questions to ask before you hire anyone

  • Who owns the code and the domain when the project ends?
  • What exactly is included, and what costs extra?
  • How many rounds of changes are included?
  • What support do I get after launch, and for how long?
  • Can I see similar work you have done?

How to get an accurate quote

Write a short brief: what your business does, who your customers are, which pages you think you need, and any sites you like. The more specific you are, the more accurate the quote. If you are not sure, send us what you have and we will help you work out the rest.
